Meeting the Needs of Farmers, and Rural Communities with Innovative Technology to Provide New Levels of Service.

"It did what I was told it would do. The fuel was there and I didn’t have to worry about it. And on top of that, I didn’t have to pay for it until after I’d used it"

· Bruce Anderson, Glenburn, ND

"The major benefits for me are that I have no inventory cost and I never worry about running out of fuel."

· Dennis Busboom, Filley, NE

"The biggest benefit is that we don’t have to worry about not having fuel here, and people forgetting to call. There is peace of mind knowing that we’ve got one less thing to worry about. We’re just really happy with it. I wouldn’t want to go back to the old way."

· Keith Duescher,       Kewaunee, WI

Managing your fuel supply can be a burden – checking tanks, ordering fuel, waiting for delivery, and then paying for your fuel. But now, thanks to modern technology, there’s a system that can help make fuel supply management easier.

With Smart Site™ fuel monitoring technology we can help you stay on top of your fuel supply. And with "consumption billing" you pay only for the fuel you actually use each month – much like you pay for electricity now.

New Smart Site™ technology is designed to make our entire fuel delivery system more efficient, while delivering more benefits for you:

· Consumption billing – you pay only for the fuel you actually use each month;

· Automated fuel ordering and delivery – gives you one less thing to worry about;

· Time savings – no more checking tanks, calling in orders, or waiting for delivery;

· Increased productivity – your fuel is ready when you are;

Proven Technology Allows for Off-Site Fuel Tank Monitoring

The Door County Cooperative will install an electronic monitor in your fuel tank(s)). It records the tank volume periodically throughout the day.

The monitor sends a radio signal to a controller located in a sheltered location, such as a house, shed or barn where a phone line and power are accessible.

When your tank’s fuel level falls below a pre-determined level, an order is automatically generated for fuel delivery.

A Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite directs the delivery truck to your tank location.

A computerized delivery ticket is generated and placed at the tank when the delivery is completed.

Proprietary Computer System Drives the Process

The Bulk Automated Scheduling System (BASS) computer ties all of the elements of the distribution system together. It schedules orders and creates routes automatically, based on tank inventory, daily fuel use and tank location.

These prioritized delivery routes are transmitted to the delivery truck via satellite. Delivery completion data is uploaded by satellite, back to the central computer system. The Door County Cooperative coordinates the delivery process, through their internet connection to the BASS computer.
